چکیده

We propose the design of a flat active wall panel and demonstrate its effectiveness in modulating impedance, which can lead to total absorption incident sound waves low-frequency range 50--120 Hz, or alter reflection phase. Such an acoustic frequency is usually most difficult handle for passive components, owing long wavelength, consequently, bulky size materials required. The actuated by piezoelectric transducer, with vibrational displacement amplified specially designed mechanical amplifier. Through both simulations impedance-tube experiments, we show that simply tuning panel's amplitude vary impedance from hard wall, matching air (leading absorption), zero phase reversal). No feedback loop necessary active-panel device; only initial adjustment during installation necessary. simulate room-acoustics application 1 \ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{} ${\mathrm{m}}^{2}$ occupies 1/48 area room it introduce switchable elements audio experience.

A Varactor-tunable High Impedance Surface for Active Metamaterial Absorber

One varactor-tunable High Impedance Surface (HIS) is proposed and used in design of an active metamaterial absorber. The proposed HIS structure is based on mushroom-type HIS, in which varactors are introduced to adjust the effective capacitance and tune the resonance frequency. The primary ground plane is etched as the bias network for these loaded varactors, and another ultra-thin grounded she...

Experiments on the low frequency barrier characteristics of cellular metamaterial panels in a diffuse sound field.

The metamaterial under investigation here consists of a periodic arrangement of unit plates in a grid-like frame such that there is a contrast in the local areal mass between cell interior and cell wall. In the low frequency range and under normal incidence this metamaterial panel exhibits a sound transmission loss significantly larger than the transmission loss of an unstructured panel with th...

metamaterial with tunable terahertz anisotropy

Dichroic polarizers and waveplates exploiting anisotropic materials have vast applications in displays and numerous optical components such as filters, beamsplitters and isolators. Artificial anisotropic media were recently suggested for the realization of negative refraction, cloaking, hyperlenses, and controlling luminescence. However, extending these applications into the terahertz domain is...

A radio-frequency tunable active filter

A design approach for a tunable active filter of constant bandwidth and center-frequency gain is described. The approach is based on a feedback configuration with a complex pole pair in the forward transfer function, and a complex zero pair in the feedback transfer function. Center frequency tuning is achieved with the variation of only one element, a potentiomenter, which controls the feedback...

Prophylaxis of adhesions with low frequency sound.

Despite a multitude of ingenious ideas, a review of the literature has revealed no consistently acceptable results concerning adhesion prophylaxis. While pharmacologic avenues are far from exhausted, presently, there is no acceptable regimen. A double blind experimental study was performed with 130 Sprague-Dawley rats to determine the effect of high intensity low frequency sound on postoperativ...
